Halfsies Newsletter #7
Happy November everyone! The holidays are just around the corner, and so is our launch date. Speaking of which - did you know your goal stashes are the perfect way to set aside money for holidays, birthdays, vacations, etc? Some of us on the team have been squirreling away money since the summer and are super excited to be spending it on gifts and donations.
That being said - we recognize not everyone is (or always will be) in a position to stash away excess funds, especially in light of the US government shutdown. This has inspired all of us on the Halfsies team to take a close look at our solutions and consider how we can assist our users to navigate hard times like this in the future. After all - though our envelope style budgeting method is built on automation and predictability, the real world often is not predictable.
Read on to hear about some of those features we’ve been working on, as well as other Halfsies news below
New Launch Features
It’s clear now more than ever that there are just going to be times when our users will experience a lack of income, or just need to pause their subscriptions and come back to their budget at a later time. That’s why we want to ensure offboarding (and getting back up and running when you return) is as painless as possible.
That’s why we’ve created the option to Save your Budgets. After launch, you’ll have be able to store your budgets and all of their stashes in your Halfsies Account Menu. From there it can be exported for your own use, or imported later to any bank account linked to Halfsies for instant budget set up.
Of course, taking a break from your budget can lead to things getting really off track. That’s why we’ve also added a quick and easy Square Up button onto the Budget tab. Square Up allows you to effortlessly update your due dates, and correct all of your overfunded or underfunded stashes to the exact amount they need - no more, no less. It’s a great way to correct an angry Spend Amount if you’ve been away for awhile. (It can also locate extra money hidden in overfunded budgets)
Beta Closing on Monday Nov 17th
We’re wrapping things up on the Beta and closing to new sign ups this Monday. The test will continue to run until the end of November for existing testers however, until Halfsies officially launches. So if there is anyone you know who would like to participate, send them our way! It’s the last chance for active testers to claim a free year-long subscription post launch.
Launch Set for End of 2025
That’s right, by the end of the year you should see Halfsies available on the App Store and Google Play. It’s hard to give an exact date, as multiple revisions may be required once we submit our product to the App Store. However, it will most likely be on Google Play sooner. We’ll keep everyone updated in our December newsletter.
And that’s it for this month! Thank you so much to everyone for your interest in Halfsies. And especially thank you to our testers who have sat down with us and shared their stories / experiences. It’s been invaluable in fine tuning our UX and knocking out those pesky early-release bugs throughout the entirety of 2025.
It’s always been our vision that Halfsies would be a tool that financially empowers couples by helping them get (and stay) on the same page. So needless to say it’s been really rewarding seeing that vision come to fruition. This process has made us so excited to keep going and share our solution with even more users down the road. Happy Thanksgiving to our earliest adopters!
